This late ninth or tenth-century scroll contains reports of a royal diplomatic mission between the court of Khotan and the Uighur kaghan of Ganzhou. A letter from the guides Chīkä and Saṃgalakā who were appointed to lead the royal delegates, seven Khotanese princes, from Dunhuang to Ganzhou describes the chaotic conditions of the roads in between. The section on view is a copy of a letter from the princes themselves who report: 'All the animals our men had are lost. Our clothes are lost … there is no one with whom we can get out (and go to?) Ganzhou.'
