Cat 278: Appeal to Rāhu

This tenth-century manuscript is a private appeal. The rough sheet of paper contains a crudely painted image of the astral deity, Rāhu, the descending god of the eclipse with a prayer below from a woman of sixty-four begging his favour and protection against illness and misfortunes that come 'as quickly as Luling' (an attendant on the god of lightning).
